In June the great actor Jean-Louis Trintignant, passed away quietly aged 91. Discovered by Roger Vadim in the 60’s he went on to play some of the pivotal roles in French cinema.

He was above all an immense actor who worked with the greatest French directors of his generation: Costa- Gavras, Lelouch, Vadim, Robbe-Grillet, Rohmer, Truffaut as well as Bertolucci, Scola, and Haneke.

Cork French Film Festival is honoured to pay tribute to Jean-Louis Trintignant by screening two key films in his repertoire directed by Costa-Gavras.

These are his feature debut, The Sleeping Car Murders, and the Oscar-winning Z.
