A message from the Ambassador of Switzerland to Ireland

The Swiss Embassy in Ireland is pleased to renew its collaboration with the Cork French Film Festival.

The 37th edition of the festival is part of the Francophonie Festival in Ireland, a project that goes far beyond the promotion of the French language.

Throughout the month of March, the Francophonie Festival celebrates cultural diversity, openness and dialogue between peoples. The Cork French Film Festival, the longest-running French-language film festival in Ireland, is fully in line with this approach, offering a rich and varied program that provides through cinema a view of the world in all its diversity.

This year, the Swiss Embassy is presenting the film Mary Anning, directed by Swiss filmmaker Marcel Barelli, which celebrates the inspiring story of the young paleontologist who defied gender norms to revolutionize science through her fossil discoveries in the 19th century.
