Yann Arthus-Bertrand Masterclass
16.00 Monday 6th March @

It is an immense privilege to welcome Yann Arthus-Bertrand to the 28th Cork French Film Festival, and to give a Masterclass on his outstanding documentary HUMAN.

Yann Arthus-Bertrand has been committed to the environmental cause since the 90s, through his amazing work as an international environmental photographer. He created the GoodPlanet Foundation in 2005, educating people worldwide on the importance of the fight against climate change.

Yann was appointed United Nations Environment Program Goodwill Ambassador in 2009. It was also in 2009 that he released his first feature-length documentary, HOME, about the state of the planet, which the Cork French Film Festival screened in 2010.

HUMAN is an amazing collection of stories and images of our world, beautifully photographed and presented, offering an immersion to the core of what it means to be human. This documentary brings us face to face with the Other, making us reflect on our lives. Earth is shown at its most sublime, through amazing aerial images and soaring music, resulting in an ode to the beauty of the world.

Moderator: Dr. Martin Howard, Head Dept. French, UCC

Admission free, all welcome.

Cork French Film Festival will screen HUMAN at the Gate on Monday 6th, 6.30pm.
Director Yann Arthus-Bertrand will be present to introduce HUMAN.
