A true classic in the French silent movie category. A young married couple, Hermione (Phyllis Neilson-Terry) and Maurice (Ivor Novello), are on their honeymoon in Sicily. Hermione has to go back home to be by her dying friend’s bedside, while Maurice decides to stay on the island. Émile (Charles Le Bargy) drags Maurice to a village party where he meets Maddalena. He falls for the fisherman’s daughter and the two embark on an affair together.
Live piano accompaniment by Ray Scannell and cellist Kate Ellis
